“Signs of the Times,” Jack Bylund

Signs of the Time
By Jack Bylund

I forsake my faith in the same era that flowers begin to bloom in Antarctica. I cannot go back, but sometimes I wonder if the philosophy of the faithful is not a happier cross to carry than the great mystery mindset I profess, often joyful, turned dour and grim because of flowers found in the wrong places.

Jack Bylund (he/him) is a teacher, student, and writer. He loves the desert, Panda Express, and novels about the end of the world. His writing can be found in Blind Corner, Grim & Gilded, and Sink Hollow, among other literary magazines.
