Regeneration
By Maddie Marriott
On days I crave stagnancy,
the Earth extends to me
her map. A leafy vine curls
around a power line, stretching
its unselfconscious arm out
over the road. Somewhere in an
ocean’s murky salt, threaded
between stalks of swaying coral,
an octopus regrows its
shark-chewed limb.
