Leaflet Submissions are Open!
The Turning Leaflets project is a quarterly zine containing created through collaboration between TTLJ staff and members from the writing community. Submissions are open for craft essays and book reviews, but may close temporarily to allow us to catch up. We aim to respond to submissions within one month.
If you are looking to submit creative work instead, click this link.
Craft Essays
We are looking for craft essays that cover elements found in Creative Nonfiction, Poetry, or Hybrid work. We are also interested in essays that explore the writing life generally, including publishing tips. If accepted, your work would be published on our website and in a digital zine.
- Send only one submission at a time. Please wait until we’ve responded before sending more work.
- Simultaneous submissions are allowed. If your work is accepted elsewhere, notify us via email as soon as possible so we can celebrate your success and withdraw your submission.
- We do not accept previously published material, including on personal blogs and social media.
- We do not consider work created in full or in part by artificial intelligence (AI).
- We are not currently able to pay our contributors.

Book Reviews
We are looking for reviews of Creative Nonfiction, Poetry, or Hybrid books and chapbooks. We are also interested in reviews of craft books. We strongly prefer books published by small/Indie presses or ones that have been independently/self published, but will consider reviews of any CNF/Poetry/Hybrid text. We are not interested in reviews of fiction at this time.
Book reviews should overall be positive, but we encourage nuanced and critical conversations about writing. We are not going to publish reviews that are overwhelmingly negative or “bashing” the author/book.
